| In 1999, cooperating with Shanghai Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Research Department, Wendeng Haitong Shipyard Co.，Ltd researched, designed and manufactured four 828-model glass fiber reinforced plastic fishers with length of 17.62 meters and 80 HP. In 2000, it designed, researched and developed of its own six 818A-model glass fiber reinforced plastic fishers with length of 20.19 meters and 120 HP, twelve 868-model glass fiber reinforced plastic fishers with length of 27.18 meters and 240 HP in 2001 and ten 839-model glass fiber reinforced plastic fishers with length of 29.10 meters and 300 HP in 2002. What's more, in 2003, it manufactured four 838-model angling boats with length of 29.8 meters and 300 HP and eight 839-model fishing boats with length of 29.1 meters and 300 HP. During the last five years, through extensive applications of glass fiber reinforced plastic fishers manufactured by us, the Wendeng Haitong Shipyard Co.，Ltd has made people fully understand that glass fiber reinforced plastic is a new shipbuilding material instead of wood and steels. Owning advantages of light weight and high strength, shock resistance, easy to take shape, worm eaten resistance, corrosion proofing, long lifetime, excellent water resistance and others, glass fiber reinforced plastic is especially applicable to build medium and small-sized ships. As a result, glass fiber reinforced plastic ship has advantages of high stability, fast speed, strong towing force, storm resistance, long lifetime, low maintenance cost, high economic benefit and so on and then develops rapidly, becoming into the development direction of international small-sized ships. At present, our workshops, covering a building area of 1800 sq. meters, can hold five sets of molding beds and simultaneously manufacture glass fiber reinforced plastic ships with length of 30 meters and width below 7.5 meters. In a word, the Wendeng Haitong Shipyard Co.，Ltd has developed into the domestic largest glass fiber reinforced plastic ship manufactory, possessing annual production capacity up to thirty ships. |
